Just one frame…

Up until September, I lived in California my whole life (except of course, my wife and I’s 4 month adventure to South Africa) I had heard things about the Pacific Northwest being beautiful, but hadn’t discovered it until I actually moved here and experienced a fall here. About a week ago, I was absolutely awestruck by a sunset I saw over Lake Sammamish by our house. So I busted out the tripod and grabbed a super-duper long exposure shot. Enjoy. Let me know what you think.
For you techy photogs out there curious, here’s the goods on the settings:

Canon 7D w/ 16-35mm lens

Aperture: f22 w/ variable ND filter knocked to down ND400

Exposure: 40 seconds (bulb)

ISO: 100

Ben & Hannah

Ben & Hannah–for lack of any better phrasing–are awesome. Ben has been one of my longtime friends from back at our APU days. He’s one of the few people I can talk to about sports and then in a split second start talking about the intricacies of Jedi mindtricks (seriously, we love Star Wars). He also has a beard that would make Brian Wilson proud. Ben also loves Hannah.

Ben’s new wife, Hannah, is flat out awesome-er. She has a heart of gold, and a smile to match. She’s funny, caring, and she loves Ben. They are perfect. I love them.

So of course I was thrilled when they asked to take some after-wedding photos in Portland. We had a beautiful (cold) fall day and shot the shots as they say (do they say that?) I don’t know. But please enjoy this very personal, close to my heart post with some of the greatest people I know.

P.S..Ben has a little old website of his own over here: Check it out.

Some editorial love..

Zac & Monica Engagement Session

These are two of my absolute favorite people. Zac is honestly one of the funniest guys I’ve ever met, and when I heard about Monica I knew she had to be equally great. I was blown away. Not only are these two just plain fun partiers, they are also two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Zac and Monica, I can’t wait to party with you guys in April because it is going to be a party indeed!
